Brendan was brought up in Newtown, Sydney by working class parents in a house with no books. In 2010 he moved to the Blue Mountains where, inspired by nature and encouraged by Katoomba poet Deb Westbury, he has published two books of poetry with Ginninderra Press, Glass Bicycles (2012) and The Wooden Gate (2017).
